Hi, thanks for sticking around to learn a bit more about me!
I’ve been practicing Pilates for over eighteen years now, many years of travelling the world with a heavy rucksack, working as a Waitress and then a good stint of teaching in Further Education gave my shoulders, neck and back something to complain about!
Pilates helped me to learn about my movement patterns, combat stress and allowed me to enjoy stillness in a busy World. It also improved my posture and gave me space to learn about my own body. I truly believe that becoming aware of your body can help you relax and improve focus and this can really change your life; whether that’s living a pain free life or moving in ways you never thought you could.
I am a keen walker, cyclist, swimmer (and a reluctant runner). I now use my Pilates practice to maintain my posture, strength and flexibility helping my performance in other sports and daily activities.
I’m always learning; listening, reading, taking courses, and working with every client and in my personal practice. I love the human body and all its intricacies. I began training in 2016 to become a certified Level 3 Pilates Mat Instructor and knew I’d finally found my thing. Teaching movement was to become my passion! In 2017, I also trained in the Barre Pilates Method and Reformer.
As a teacher, I enjoy helping people focus, achieve and feel better. Furthermore, I love to challenge people to try new things and find success through movement.
I teach practically, assessing the body and then watching people’s movement patterns before trying to work out how we can change their everyday habits to combat aches and pains.
What’s most important is that you feel better than you did before the session!
